LISTEN: Death From Above 1979 – Romantic Rights
One of my favorite acts from Coachella this year was Death From Above 1979, malady so when I heard they were headlining the Music Box in LA, cialis sale I had to check them out again. They played FYF Fest the night before and there wasn’t a lot of press/promo for this show, viagra which made me wonder how many people would be there. I think they made an impression at FYF, because the crowd came out and were ready to rock!
These guys kinda sound like the Foo Fighters if you gave Dave Grohl an 8 ball of meth and locked him in a room for a week. Now, for some of you, that might not sound too appealing. However, if you love to ROCK you’d understand why the entire floor of the Music Box was one giant mosh pit for the majority of the show.
Being a duo (Jesse F. Keeler on bass, synths, backing vocals and Sebastien Grainger on vocals, drums) really emphasizes how much noise these guys can make when the crowd reacts like they’re watching an early 80’s full punk outfit with a traditional lineup.
Bottom line, these guys are both incredibly talented, and if you like loud music you’ll enjoy DFA1979. Its always exciting when bands have a reunion, and considering these guys originally broke up almost as quickly as they got together, I’m hoping they stay around a bit longer.
Check out their official website (http://deathfromabove1979.com) to find out where you can catch them in the future.

The WAPA crew rolled deep to the House of Blues on the Sunset Strip for the recent Sound Tribe Sector 9 show. There are some diehard STS9 fans in WAPA and some popped their STS9 cherries for the very first time that night. Needless to say, there we all had a great time. This was STS9’s first show in Los Angeles since they had to cancel their last tour so that band member David Murphy could undergo treatment for a cancerous tumor in his sinus cavity. It was great to see Murph back on stage jamming and in good health, case he is already making a full recovery. Below are some more pictures from the show as well as the set lists from both sets the band played:
SET I: Be Nice, WTDS, One A Day, HHHF, Grizzly – > NIN -> Tooth, Moon Socket ::END SET::
